This compilation album is an expansion of
Perry's original Musical Smart Set
and 10" LP with the addition of four songs: "Blue Room"
and "Without a Song" were recorded in December, 1948,
for the last Hollywood Musical in which Perry appeared,
while "No Other Love"
and "Lies" were two popular hits for Perry in 1953.
The first three were recorded with Henri René and His Orchestra
and "Lies" was recorded with Hugo Winterhalter's Orchestra
and The Ramblers and a popular flipside to Perry's Gold Record
"Don't Let The Stars Get In Your Eyes".
Winterhalter also produced
"No Other Love" which was based on the haunting theme
"Beneath the Southern Cross" written for the television series
"Victory at Sea" telecast by
NBC-TV for twenty-six weeks during 1952-1953.
Original eight tracks with Russ Case and His Orchestra,
with the exception of "Body and Soul" with Lloyd Shaffer
Recorded July 10th & 11th and September 25th & 30th,
